Objectives/Focus
issues of the SMC
|
ISPP-SMC postharvest pathology committee has been actively
involved in organizing an International symposium on a biannual
basis since 2013. This symposium has been held in cooperation with
ISHS working group on postharvest pathology of postharvest diseases.
The main purpose of the symposium is to bring together researchers
and industry from around the world to meet and discuss in-depth
advances and define problems in the field of postharvest pathology.

About the SMC
|
SMC Postharvest Pathology was established back in 2028 during the
IPPC held in Turin, Italy and was responsible for organizing
postharvest pathology sessions as well symposia on specific subjects
in postharvest pathology. During the 2008 IPPC, it was decided to
organize a separate symposium dedicated to postharvest pathology
every two years. The First symposium of the ISPP-SMC on postharvest
pathology was held in 2011 in Lleida, Spain, and then followed by
symposia held in Turkey, Italy, South Africa, Belgium, Cyprus and
New Zealand. In 2013, ISPP-SMC postharvest pathology joined forces
with the ISHS working group on postharvest pathology and decided to
organize the biannual symposium.
