Objectives/Focus issues of the SMC

The objective of the SMC Mycotoxins is to increase the perception of plant pathologist regarding the impact of mycotoxins in the One Health vision and to involve different expertise in collaborating to mitigate mycotoxin occurrence. Climate change has a strong effect on fungi and their interaction with the host plant; consequently, the impact on mycotoxin occurrence/co-occurrence must be managed involving plant pathologists with different expertise. The focus of the group is to increase knowledge to find novel solutions. A positive interaction can be established with the International Society for Mycotoxicology, which President is Dr. Antonio Moretti, that is the largest scientific society in the world, dealing with mycotoxin topic.
